About software
GerbView ™ allows you to view and print Gerber, ODB++ and Adobe PDF files.
GerbView supports both RS-274D and RS-274X Gerber formats, and you can use it to convert your older Gerber files to the new RS-274X extended format. This format has embedded aperture information, which will reduce the chance of errors in the manufacture of the PCB.
With GerbView’s PDF to CAD capability you can convert your Adobe PDF files to Gerber or Autodesk DXF.
Gerbview lets you visualize your design either on the screen or in print. The prototype circuit board is no longer necessary to visualize your design. Use the precise measure and query tool to verify apertures, tools, distances, etc.
GerbView allows you to create a workspace which can include one or more of the supported file types. The workspace can be saved for later use. The workspace you save will link to the design files. All you have to do is reload the workspace file in order to see the entire design.
To the workspace, you can add markup elements like text and barcodes to arrows. Lines, images, ellipses or polygons can also be added. All markup elements can be burned-in and become part of a Gerber layer. You can by using this feature easily add, for example, text or barcode images to a layer.
GerbView has the ability to rasterize single files as well as entire workspaces. You can then save to one or more of the supported file formats.
You can print in scaled, or in the actual size. All Windows-based plotters, printers and scanners are supported. You can print large designs or drawings in poster mode (also known as tiled pages).
